Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 8-14 years with IDD diagnosed by a government authority and residing in or attending special schools in Salem City, Tamil Nadu. Children with Sensory not over responsive Profiles Consent from parents/caregiver.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children on antibiotics or antiseptic mouthwash in past 2 weeks. Severe behavioral impairment not allowing oral access. Children who underwent any preventive or therapeutic dental treatment with other co-morbidities. Children who have recently participated in other oral hygiene or sensory intervention studies (to avoid bias).

MeasureTime frame
Assess and Compare the change in gingival index scores and plaque index scores before and after brushing in children with Intelectual and developmental disabilities.Timepoint: Base line, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 10 weeks.
