Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Willing to follow the Ayurvedic regimen. 2. Patient between the age group of 30 to 70 years of either sex. 3. Type 2 diabetes mellitus with a history of at least 10 years. 4. Stable blood glucose level. 5. Macular oedema more than 280 m is included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient with ocular manifestation due to serious systemic illness such as carcinoma, CAD (coronary artery disease), chronic renal failure, anemia, and other systemic infections diseases like tuberculosis. 2. Patient with complications after any ophthalmic surgery, such as cataract and glaucoma surgery. 3. Patient with uveitis, branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO), and central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), age-related macular degeneration (AMD), retinitis pigmentosa (RP), and vitreomacular traction (VMT). 4. Patient with diabetes taking insulin. 5. Pregnant and lactating women. DME Severe cases (Macular oedema more than 500 m) or those requires urgent surgical interventions are excluded.
