Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Adult patients aged 18yrs and above undergoing elective day-care surgical procedures res under any type of anaesthesia (general, regional, or monitored anaesthesia care). 2.Procedures scheduled for same-day discharge according to institutional day-care surgery policy. 3.Optimized ASA 3 patient. 4. Patients who consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Planned inpatient admissions, i.e., cases where an overnight stay is anticipated before surgery (for medical, social, or logistic reasons). Emergency or unplanned surgeries, or elective procedures converted to emergency before induction of anaesthesia. 2.High-risk patients (Unoptimized ASA physical status 3 or above, unstable systemic disease). 3. Procedures in non-day care operation theatres. 4. Refusal of consent to participate in the study.

To study the incidence of inpatient admissions among patients scheduled for day care surgery.Timepoint: At discharge from the day care unit.

To evaluate characteristics and perioperative factors observed in patients who required inpatient/ ICU admission after day care surgery.Timepoint: From preoperative assessment until discharge from the day care unit or unanticipated inpatient/ICU admission
