Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients classified as ASA Physical Status I II. Patients scheduled for elective surgery under general anaesthesia requiring endotracheal intubation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pre existing upper airway abnormalities. Facial fractures. Cervical spine injuries. Mouth opening less than three centimetres. Pregnancy

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To determine the association between Wilsons score and the ultrasound airway parameters (DSE, DSH, Tongue thickness) in predicting difficult airwaysTimepoint: Wilson score will be assessed 1 day before surgery and Ultrasound of the upper airway on the day of surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To identify the optimal cut-off values for these ultrasound parameters. To investigate gender wise differences in airway parameters. To evaluate the correlation between USG parameters & modified Cormac Lehane grading.Timepoint: 1 day prior to & on the day of surgery
