Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Males and females of age more than 18 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Imminent respiratory arrest with need for urgent intubation 2 Failure to secure patient/ family member/ legal guardian s consent 3 Absence of commitment to pursue full life support measures (Do-not-intubate or Do-not resuscitate orders). 4 Patients with pleural effusion obscuring diaphragmatic or lung sonographic views

to evaluate and compare the predictive ability of the HACOR score, ROX index and Lung ultrasound for the failure of HFNC therapy within the first 24 hours of initiation.Timepoint: HFNC failure as evidenced by upgradation of respiratory support to mechanical ventilation within 24 hours of initiation.
