Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Elective gastrointestinal cancer surgery under anesthesia. 2. Able to understand and complete cognitive test.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pre-existing cognitive impairment or dementia 2. Major psychiatric illness/ Alzheimer s/ neurodegenerative disorder 3. Severe visual or hearing impairment 4. Patients with low literacy or no formal education 5. Patients with baseline MMSE less than 24 6. Persistent delirium 7. Patients with prolonged ventilation / inability to assess 8. Inability to complete follow-up cognitive assessment
