Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged more than or equal to 40 years with visually significant cataract 2. Patients opting for Monofocal Plus or EDOF IOL implantation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with ocular pathology impairing vision (e.g., corneal edema, macular degeneration, advanced glaucoma). 2. Complicated cataract surgery (e.g., posterior capsule rupture, zonular dialysis). 3. Previous ocular surgery (e.g., refractive surgery, retinal surgery).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. To evaluate and compare uncorrected and best-corrected visual acuity at distance (far), intermediate, and near ranges in patients implanted with Monofocal-Plus and EDOF IOLs. 2. To assess and compare the contrast sensitivity functions between the two study groups using the Pelli-Robson chart.Timepoint: Baseline

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.To evaluate the incidence and severity of photic phenomena (glare, halos) using a standardized questionnaire. 2.To compare postoperative patient satisfaction and spectacle independence between the two groups using standard questionnaire. Timepoint: Baseline
