Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with anal fissures who did not respond to conservative therapy for six weeks 2. Fissures requiring surgical intervention 3. No prior anal surgery 4. Patients signing consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with acute anal fissures 2.Patients with a history of -previous anal surgeries,irritable bowel syndrome,2nd and 3rd degree internal haemorrhoids,fistula in ano,carcinoma anal canal,tuberculosis,immunocompromised patients. 3.Patients with preexisting faecal incontinence 4.Pregnant females
