Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. type2 Diabetes minimum 1 year to maximum 10 year duration currently on OHGs 2. Dyslipidemia with specific lipid cut offs based on NCEP ATP III guidelines TC above 230mg/dl, TG 200mg/dl, LDL above 120mg/dl and HDL lower than 40mg/dl. 3. patients on a stable dose of medication OHP and lipid lowering drugs at least 3 months prior to study who still have deranged lipids.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.patients with other causes of dyslipidemia 2. alcoholism, smoking and other drug abusers 3.pregnant and lactating mothers 4. patients with insulin therapy 5.HbA1c above 9percentage 5.recent acute events like MI, stroke, major surgery with last 6months are excluded.
