Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Adult patients aged greater than or equal to 18 years who have been discharged from the Intensive Care Unit 2) Patients with an ICU stay for greater than or equal to 7 days. 3) Patients assessed for ICU- acquired weakness within 48-72 hours of ICU discharge. 4) Patients who are conscious, alert and able to follow simple commands (GCS greater than or equal to 13). 5) Patients who are clinically stable at the time of ICU discharge. 6) Patients who are ambulatory or attempting mobility after ICU discharge. 7) Patients or their legal representatives who provide informed consent to participate in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients who are medically unstable following ICU discharge (e.g., ongoing hemodynamic instability, requirement of high oxygen or ventilatory support) 2) Patients with pre-existing mobility limitations or dependence for ambulation prior to ICU admission. 3) Patients with pre-existing neuromuscular disorders (e.g., Stroke with residual weakness, Parkinson s disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis Myopathies, Neuropathies). 4) Patients with severe cognitive impairment, delirium, or psychiatric illness interfering with assessment. 5) Patients with amputation, severe musculoskeletal deformities, or acute/pre-existing lower limb fractures limiting weight bearing or gait assessment. 6) Patients with terminal illness or receiving palliative care.
