Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Preoperatively confirmed Visually significant cataract requiring cataract surgery. 2. Corneal Astigmatism less than or equal to 1.00 D. 3. Willing and able to provide informed written consent . 4. Ability to cooperate for follow up evaluation at 1 week , 1 month and 3 month .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with pre existing visually significant Corneal Opacity , Optic neuropathy , Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma , Macular Disease, Amblyopia , Corneal Dystrophies , Corneal Astigmatism more than or equal to 1.00D. 2. Patients with traumatic and uveitic cataract. 3. Patients with Past H/O Ocular or Refractive Surgery. 4. Patients with Intra-operative complications like PC rent , Nucleus drop , Central DM detachment and Post-Operative complications like Uveitis and other which will affect the patients vision .

MeasureTime frame
1.Assess visual acuity for near , distant and intermediate vision. 2.To evaluate functional range of vision by plotting a defocus curve . 3.Evaluate contrast sensitivity under photopic and mesopic conditions. Timepoint: 1.By comparing Visual Acuity preoperatively , 1st week , 1st month and 3rd month . 2.By plotting Defocus curve at 1st and 3rd month . 3. By comparing contrast sensitivity preoperatively , 1st week , 1st month and 3rd month .

MeasureTime frame
1. To Evaluate photic phenomenons using standard questionnaire. Timepoint: 1.By using QUVID questionnaire at 1st month and 3rd month .
