Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients coming for Off pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery in cardiac surgery operation theatre at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. 2. Patient aged between 18 to 65 years of either sex. 3. American Society of Anaesthesiologists [ASA] grade class II-III patients. 4. Patients giving written informed consent for the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with known history of diabetes mellitus. 2. Patients with other heart diseases or vascular malformations that require surgery in addition to Off pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery. 3. Obese and patients with gastro esophageal reflux disease. 4. Patients of Coronary artery disease with any other co-morbidities other than hypertension. 5. Patients involved in any other study. 6. Patients whose surgery will last more than 3 hours.

To assess and compare the difference in visual analogue score for pain between Group A and B. To assess and compare QoR-15 score between Group A and B.Timepoint: -Visual Analogue Score for postoperative pain 30 minutes, 3hours, 6 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours and 24 hrs after extubation. - QoR-15 score 24 hrs after extubation.	—

To assess and compare the peri operative blood glucose levels between Group A and B.Timepoint: Blood glucose level at 10pm, night before the surgery, just before induction, then 1 hourly till the end of surgery and at 30 minutes, 3hours, 6 hours , 9 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours after extubation.;To assess and compare visual analogue score for postoperative hunger and thirst between Group A and B.Timepoint: Visual Analogue Score for hunger and thirst 10 minutes after consumption of drink at night and in the morning, just before induction and at 30 minutes, 3hours, 6hours, 9hours, 12hours and 24 hours after extubation.	—
