Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Women aged approximately 20 45 years with regular menstrual cycles and no history of menopause. Women aged more than 55 years, with natural menopause (no menstruation for 12 months). Patients with chronic periodontitis as per 2017 AAP classification. Presence of at least 20 natural teeth. Minimum of four sites with probing pocket depth (PPD) 4 mm and 7mm
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Presence of systemic diseases known to affect periodontal status Peri menopausal age groups 40 55 years Women on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), oral contraceptives, or any hormonal medications. Patients with hysterectomy. Patients with deleterious habits (alcohol, smoking and tobacco chewing) Pregnant or lactating women. History of periodontal therapy within the past 6 months. Use of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, or corticosteroid drugs within 3 months. Presence of acute infections, periapical pathology, or other oral mucosal lesions. Participants unwilling or unable to return for follow-up sampling or complete the study period.
