Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged between 18 and 35 years. Impacted mandibular third molars requiring surgical removal. Patients with no deleterious oral habits like smoking, tobacco chewing. ASA Grade 1 patients. Patients willing to provide written informed consent and comply with follow-up.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Medically compromised or immunocompromised patients. Orthodontic extractions. Patients with temporomandibular joint disorders. ASA Grade 2 or higher patients. Patients with developmental or premalignant lesions associated with the 3rd molar. Patients unwilling or unable to return for follow-up.

The local application of doxycycline (100 mg) and dexamethasone (4 mg) following coronectomy of impacted mandibular third molars is expected to result in improved postoperative outcomes compared to conventional coronectomy alone, including reduced pain, swelling, and postoperative complications, along with enhanced soft tissue healing.Timepoint: Baseline, Day 3, Day 7, Day 14, Day 30, day 90
