Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with chronic periodontitis requiring bilateral periodontal flap surgery and willing to provide informed consent and systemically healthy patients.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with known allergy to local anesthetic agents. Pregnant or lactating women. Patients with systemic diseases contraindicating periodontal surgery. Patients on long term analgesic or sedative medications.

To evaluate and compare the onset of anesthesia and intra operative pain perception between 4 Percent Articaine and 2 Percent Lignocaine during periodontal flap surgery.Timepoint: At the time of administration of local anesthesia and during periodontal flap surgery.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate and compare the duration of anesthesia between 4 Percent Articaine and 2 Percent Lignocaine during periodontal flap surgery.Timepoint: From administration of local anesthesia till return of normal sensation after completion of surgery.
