Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients aged mou18 years undergoing CBCT imaging for routine dental diagnostic purposes, including implant planning. Availability of diagnostically acceptable CBCT scans adequately covering the mandibular posterior region. Presence of asymptomatic mandibular radiolucent areas suggestive of bone marrow defects on CBCT imaging For the study groups Documented history of previous COVID-19 infection confirmed through medical records, laboratory reports, or validated self-reported history Diagnosed diabetes mellitus based on medical history or physician documentation for diabetic study group
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: History of: Jaw cysts, tumors, or fibro-osseous lesions. Osteomyelitis or medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw. Head and neck radiotherapy. Known hematologic malignancies or metabolic bone diseases other than diabetes mellitus. Evidence of: o Cortical expansion, aggressive bone destruction, or periosteal reaction. Poor-quality CBCT scans with artefacts or incomplete mandibular coverage.
