Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All OT staff (surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nurses, technicians) present during elective surgical procedures.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Surgeries performed under local anaesthesia in the main OT complex. 2. Procedures with no anaesthesia provider present (minor dressings, bedside procedures). 3. Emergency crash laparotomies or life-threatening scenarios where observation may interfere with care.

MeasureTime frame
To determine the incidence of case irrelevant communication (CIC) among OT staff during surgical procedures.Timepoint: Events will be recorded at standardized operative time intervals and during predefined critical and non-critical phases of surgery.—

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To classify CIC according to type (e.g., social talk, hospital-related but not case-specific, personal discussions). Timepoint: To assess the timing and frequency of CIC in relation to different phases of surgery (induction, maintenance, emergence).—
