Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults aged 18 to 65 years. Clinical and radiological diagnosis of AVN undergoing THA. Willingness to participate and provide informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Known malignancy, infection, inflammatory arthritis or any other hip pathology. Previous hip surgery on the same side.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To correlate histopathological findings with radiological and clinical diagnosed cases of AVN of the hip.Timepoint: 6 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- To assess the diagnostic accuracy of imaging modalities in AVN. - To assess the necessity of routine histopathological evaluation of femoral heads removed during THA. - To determine the role of histopathology in guiding conservative management of the contralateral hip when AVN is not confirmed. - To study the etiology of AVN in Indian Population. Timepoint: 6 weeks
