Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing surgery under general anaesthesia. 2. Patients giving informed and written consent. 3. Patients with ASA Grade I to III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with longterm use of opioids, benzodiazepines or illicit drug use for more than 6 weeks. 2. Patients with history of hypertension, arrythmia, severe cardiac or peripheral neuropathy and who consumed medicine interfering with cardiac rhythm or ANS activity. 3. Patients who are not able to comprehend the procedure. 4. Surgery time limited to one hour.

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate sleep quality using insomnia severity index (ISI),severity of acute postoperative pain using numeric rating scale(NRS) and determine association between sleep quality and degree of postoperative pain.Timepoint: ISI- preoperatively at the time the patient enters the OT NRS- postoperatively, 30 min, 6hours, 12 hours, 24 hours

1.intra operative hemodynamic variables (SBP, DBP, MAP,HR.) 2. demographic variables ( age,sex)Timepoint: Intraoperatively, baseline, & at every 15 min till the end of surgery
