Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosed idiopathic Parkinsons disease (UK Brain Bank criteria) Hoehn and Yahr Stage 1 to 3; concurrent Stage II-III Grade B periodontitis (AAP/EFP 2017 classification); minimum 10 natural teeth present; MMSE score 24 or above (adequate cognitive function for consent); willing to participate and provide written informed consent; age 40 to 75 years either sex

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Antibiotic or antiseptic mouthwash use in past 1 month; scaling and root planing in past 6 months; known allergy to liquorice or formulation components; uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (HbA1c above 9 percent); decompensated liver or renal disease; active malignancy or current chemotherapy or radiotherapy; edentulous patients; severe cognitive impairment (MMSE below 24) without legally acceptable representative; medications causing gingival hyperplasia (calcium channel blockers, phenytoin, cyclosporine); pregnancy or lactation
