Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants will include male and female NCoE athletes aged 16 to 18 years with a normal BMI for age, at least one year of training experience, participation in intermittent, endurance, or team sports, energy availability greater than 30 and smaller than 45 kcal per kg body weight, and written parental/guardian consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants will be excluded if they have known metabolic disorders, chronic or recurrent illnesses, are on medication for chronic conditions, have any current injury, are diagnosed with nutritional deficiencies based on biomarkers, or have undergone sports specific periodized training for more than five years.
