Intervention1: Intravenous dexmedetomidine before (1mcg/kg) and during (0.5mcg/kg/hr) FESS: Group 1 will be infused with intravenous dexmedetomidine ( 1mcg/kg) in 100 ml of Normal Saline (0.9%) over 1

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing FESS surgery under general anaesthesia. 2. Patients willing to give informed written consent. 3. Patient weight between 60-80kgs. 4. Patients come under American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status 1 to 3

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with hypertension, pregnant females, neuromuscular illnesses (myopathies and myasthenia gravis), hematological diseases. 2. Patients with psychiatric conditions, use of analgesics or sedatives within 24 hours before surgery, known heart conditions , calcium channel blocker users. 3. Patients having drug allergy to dexmedetomidine.

MeasureTime frame
To assess and compare between intravenous and intranasal dripping administration of dexmedetomidine on intraoperative blood loss during functional endoscopic nasal sinus surgery by Boezaart s grading scale in patients under general anaesthesia.Timepoint: 1. Time of starting point of surgery is 0 minutes. 2. Then we will measure the amount of blood loss in surgical field every 15 minutes according to Boezaart s grading scale.

MeasureTime frame
1. To compare hemodynamic stability ( Heart Rate, Mean arterial pressure) between two groups. 2. To measure surgical satisfaction by using 5- point Likert scale. 3. To evaluate the sedation by using Ramsey Sedation Score. 4. To observe and record post op adverse effects such as Bradycardia, Hypotension and Desaturation, 5. To evaluate recovery profile.Timepoint: 5 minutes, 10 minutes , 15 minutes
