Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients suffering with mild to moderate anxiety and depression individually or combined, diagnosed by GAD-7, PHQ-9 questionnaire will be included in the study. 2. Patients between the age group of 30 to 70 years irrespective of their religion, gender and socioeconomic status. 3. Patients either previously diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus or newly confirmed at screening with Fasting Blood Glucose up to 250 mg/dl as per standard guidelines. 4. Patients on stable anti-diabetic treatment or not taking any medication but diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. 5. Patients ready to sign informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with other psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder. 2. Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients suffering with other serious co-morbidities. 3. Patients with chronic respiratory disease such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Severe Asthma. 4. Patients suffering with serious complication of diabetes such as Nephropathy, Vasculopathy. 5. Pregnant and lactating women. 6. Patients on anti-anxiety or anti-depression medication or other psychotropic medication and/or psychotherapy will be excluded. 7. Patients with Type-I Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM).

The proposed study will be expected to provide Bhramari Pranayama significant reduction in level of Anxiety and Depression with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients and enhancing overall patient well-being.Timepoint: 45 days

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is also expected that this study would be able to find out the positive influence of Bhramari Pranayama on Fasting Blood Sugar Level and Inflammatory Markers.Timepoint: 45 days
