Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Parturients with pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) scheduled for elective cesarean section under spinal anesthesia 2. Age 18-40 years 3. Gestational age more than 37 weeks

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Parturients with pre-existing hypertension or other cardiovascular diseases 2. Multiple gestation 3. Placenta previa or other placental abnormalities 4. Fetal distress or other obstetric emergencies 5. Regional anaesthesia refusal 6. contraindications for regional Anaesthesia 7. pregnancy related complications like gestational diabetes, Hb less than 7, hemoglobinopathy, hypo/ hyperthyroidism because these conditions might interfere with hemodynamic parameters.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is BP, including mean BP, systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP).Timepoint: baseline pre op, intra op every 3 min after spinal anaesthesia upto delevery of baby.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Other hemodynamic parameters, such as the HR and O2 saturationTimepoint: before the operation and then every 3 mins till delivery of the baby
