Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This study included pregnant women 18 to 40yrs age at term with preeclampsia scheduled for elective C-section who are fasted as per standard ASA fasting guidelines.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Emergency C section. 2. Not fasted as per standard guideline. 3. Pregnancy-related complications as gestational diabetes, or pre-existing diseases as insulin-dependent diabetes, Hb less than 7, hemoglobinopathies, cardiovascular or renal diseases, hypo/hyperthyroidism. 4. multiple gestation 5. on Active Labour 6. Obese 7. received any drug affecting gastric motility.
