Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Adults(more than or equal to 18y age) requiring emergent intubation. 2.DAPS(Difficult physiological airway score) more than or equal to five. 3.No immediate need for establishing surgical airway.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Cardiac arrest prior to intubation. 2.Patient on NIV prior to intubation. 3.Do-Not-Intubate (DNI) status. 4.Patients with conditions contraindicating the use of ketamine (e.g., increased intracranial pressure, acute angle-closure glaucoma) or contraindicating neuromuscular blocking agents. 5.Pregnant patients.

To compare the incidence of Peri Intubation Hypoxia(PIH) defined by 1.SpO2 below 93% at any point of time after pre-oxygenation till 10 minutes after Endotracheal intubation(ETI),if it was above 93% at end of pre-oxygenation or 2.fall in SpO2 by beyond 10% at any point of time after pre-oxygenation till 10 minutes after ETI,if it was below 93% at the end of pre-oxygenation or 3.Critical desaturation i.e., below 70% at any point of time after Pre-oxygenation till 10 minutes after ETI.Timepoint: At any point of time from Pre-oxygenation till 10 minutes after placement of ETT.
