Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This study included pregnant women 18- 40 yrs in 3rd trimester before delivery, Normotensive mothers in one group, pre eclamptic in other.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Pre existing Known renal dis. - Already developed ARF. - patients on MgSO4 - urinary infection, hematuria etc - requiring oxygen/ ventilatory supplement - pregnancy-related complications as gestational diabetes, or insulin-dependent diabetes, - known cardiovascular dis, resp dis - Drugs having potential to cause renal compromise.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Urinary oxygen tension (PuO2)Timepoint: pre-operatively, just before administering spinal anaesthesia.

MeasureTime frame
Blood pressure (systolic, diastolic, and mean arterial pressure) Urine output Proteinuria (dipstick or 24-hour urine protein) Serum creatinine Uric acid levels Fetal outcomes: Birth weight, APGAR scores, Gestational age at delivery Maternal outcomes: Need for antihypertensive therapy, Mode of delivery, ICU admission Timepoint: in 3rd trimester before delivery
