Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1.The incidence of cardiac assessment escalation during preoperative evaluation (incidence is the ratio of number of patients who are adviced additional cardiac tests to the total number of patients attending the PAC clinic for thoracic surgery).Timepoint: will be followed up from first preanaesthetic checkup visit till the final fitness for surgery given in preanaesthetic clinic. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1.To find the effect (effect is defined as number of patients in whom additional cardiac test resulted in change of cancer treatment plan and/or change of preoperative medications, and/or additional expert consultation) of the results of additional cardiac tests on the changes in the preoperative management of the patient, in terms of changes in the cancer treatment plan, changes in preoperative medications, and additional expert consultation.Timepoint: will be noted at the time of discharge from the hospital.;2.To determine the total time required to get the fitness for surgery (defined as the time in days between the first PAC clinic visit and the final anaesthesia fitness) when cardiac assessment escalation is performed.Timepoint: will be noted at the time of discharge from the hospital.;3.To find out the incidence (incidence is defined as the ratio of number of patients who developed MACE to total number of patients who were adviced additional cardiac test) of major adverse cardiac events in patients undergoing the escalation of cardiac assessment during postoperative hospital stay till discharge.Timepoint: will be noted at the time of discharge from the hospital. | — |
