Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1, Age above 18 years 2. benign or cytologically indeterminate lesions or malignant lesion involving single or both lobes of size 5 cm or less and volumne 40 ml

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age below 18 years 2. Refusal to give consent 3. Patients not fit for GA/ neck extension required for surgical positioning 4. History of head and neck surgery and previous irradiation 5. All thyroids lesions of size more than 5cm or 40 ml 6. evidence of active clinical hyperthyroidism or thyroiditis 7. substernal thyroidal extension

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the quality of life between endoscopic BABA approach and robotic( modified RABIT approach) in thyroid surgeryTimepoint: Quality of Life will be assessed at 2, 6 and 12 weeks postoperativly

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.To compare the ease of doing the procedure by the surgeon between endoscopic BABA approach & robotic, modified RABIT approach 2. To compare the safety in terms of complications (RLN injury, parathyroid injury, pain, respiratory distress, subcutaneous ecchymosis & paraesthesia over neck, chin, chest) between the robotic modified RABIT approach versus the endoscopic BABA approach. 3. To compare the robotic modified RABIT approach & endoscopic BABA in terms of conversion to open thyroidectomyTimepoint: 1. It will be assessed on same day immediately after Surgery 2. Other Secondary outcome will be assessed during follow up at 2 & 6 weeks postoperativly
