Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Single-surface occlusal cavities involving both enamel and dentin. 2.Lesion Size: Cavities wide enough to allow access for hand instruments. 3.Caries Activity: Active carious lesions without pulpal involvement. 4.Tooth Condition: Non-restored primary molars with no history of previous treatment in the affected tooth.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients exhibiting radiographic evidence of irreversible pulpitis or pulp necrosis. 2.Patients with a history of pain associated with the teeth designated for treatment. 3.Teeth with severe structural damage, rendering them non-restorable. 4. Patients who have undergone antibiotic treatment within the past four weeks. 5. Patients with photosensitivity disorders (e.g., porphyria). 6. Patients on photosensitizing medications (e.g., tetracyclines, isotretinoin).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1)Microbiological assessment and comparison of the total viable bacterial count before and after application of SDF-KI, diode laser, PC-PDT and PC@AgNPs-PDT. 2)Microbiological assessment and comparison of streptococcus mutans count before and after application of SDF-KI, diode laser, PC-PDT and PC@AgNPs-PDT. 3)Microbiological assessment and comparison of lactobacilli count before and after application of SDF-KI, diode laser, PC-PDT and PC@AgNPs-PDT. Timepoint: Baseline 30 min
