Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients presenting to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at our institute with unfavourable mandibular angle fractures either isolated or in combination with other fractures Patients within the age range of 18 to 60 years Patients providing informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients unfit for surgery under general anaesthesia Patient with comminuted angle fracture Patient with fracture of mandibular condyle Patients with concomitant head injuries Patients unwilling to provide consent Partially or completely edentulous patients Patient with any associated midface fractures

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the effectiveness of osteosynthesis at the fracture site using both the dimensionally modified strut 3D bone plate and conventional titanium miniplatesTimepoint: 2nd day 1 week 1 month 3 months and 6 months

To measure postoperative parameters including mouth opening bite force oedema pain and occlusion following the utilization of the modified strut 3D bone plate and two titanium miniplatesTimepoint: 2nd day 1 week 1 month 3 months and 6 months
