Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age ranging from 18 to 30 years. 2. Minimum of 20 teeth present at the time of examination. 3. Patients with no other systemic conditions. 4. Plaque-induced gingivitis patients with plaque index and gingival index scores more than or equal to 1 in 10 percent of the sites. 5. Participants willing to comply with the appointment schedule.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria were as follows: 1. Generalized or localized chronic periodontitis. 2. Pregnant or lactating women. 3. Participants with any systemic condition. 4. Participants with any allergic or infectious diseases. 5. Participants receiving antibiotic therapy or any medication within the past 6 months. 6. Participants using any chemical mouth wash or any other oral hygiene aids. 7. Participants wearing an orthodontic appliance or a removable partial denture. 8. Patients who refused to be a part of the study.
