Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: For Cases 1 Age 18 to 60 years 2 Diagnosed Pandu Roga on basis of Hb according to WHO cut off and ayurveda based diagnosed criteria 3 Willing to participate with informed consent For Controls 1 Age 18 to 60 years 2 Normal haemoglobin level with absence of mandatory clinical features of Pandu 3 Willing to participate with informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: For both Cases and Controls 1 Individuals with known haematological disorders like thalassemia, sickle cell anaemia, aplastic anaemia 2 Individuals with a recent history of acute illness, blood loss, or surgery within the past 3 months 3 Individuals with known chronic systemic illnesses chronic kidney disease, liver disorders, malignancies, tuberculosis, HIV, rheumatic fever 4 Past history of diseases malaria, dengue fever, kala azar, typhoid fever in the last 6 months 5 Pregnant and lactating women, women with excessive menses 6 History of recent blood transfusion 7 Individuals with known psychiatric disorders or those unable to comprehend or respond to the study questionnaire 8 Participants unwilling to give informed consent
