Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Subjects diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or COPD and admitted in ICU. Subjects classified as GOLD Grade two and Grade three COPD. Subjects with FVC and FEV1 between 30 percent and 79 percent predicted. Subjects with respiratory rate less than 30 breaths per minute. Subjects with upper chest mobility less than 4 cm. Subjects with lower chest mobility less than 4.5 cm. Subjects who are medically and hemodynamically stable. Subjects able to understand instructions and provide written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Subjects with unstable cardiac arrhythmias or other hemodynamic instability. Subjects requiring high levels of PEEP or FiO2 where mobilization is contraindicated. Subjects with severe agitation delirium or cognitive impairment precluding participation. Subjects with neuromuscular disorders affecting respiratory muscles. Subjects with significant chest wall deformities that may influence chest wall mobility measurements. Pregnant subjects. Subjects unable to follow commands or participate in the intervention protocol.
