Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Elderly individuals aged between 60 and 80 years, residing in the selected old age homes, and including both male and female participants were included in the study. Individuals who had been using a smartphone daily for at least the past 3 months and reported smartphone usage of more than 4 hours per day throughout the week were considered eligible. Participants demonstrating frequent smartphone checking behaviour multiple times per day were also included. Elderly individuals who were able to understand and respond to the questionnaires, either independently or with assistance, and those who were willing to participate and provide informed consent were included in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Elderly individuals with cognitive impairment or diagnosed dementia were excluded from the study. Participants with visual or hearing impairments that interfered with the administration or understanding of the questionnaires were also excluded. Elderly individuals with known psychiatric disorders who were currently receiving treatment, as well as those who were critically ill or bedridden, were not included in the study. In addition, individuals who did not use smartphones were excluded from participation.
