Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Newly diagnosed STEMI with Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (objective 1) Newly diagnosed STEMI with Stress Hyperglycaemia (objective 2) Willingness of patients to provide written informed consents

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of prior Acute Myocardial Infarction Type 1 diabetes or other types of diabetes including Gestational diabetes Hematologic disorders like polycythaemia, anaemia etc Severe renal dysfunction, kidney transplantation or chronic dialysis Severe hepatic dysfunction, serious infections, malignant tumours Pregnant or lactating Missing important laboratory data such as admission glucose or HbA1c
