Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Elective laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery involving intracorporeal intestinal anastomosis (enterotomy closure with or without enforcement following stapled anastomosis) using barbed polydioxanone suture. 2. Procedures performed by the single surgeon
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Emergency procedures 2. Intestinal anastomosis where barbed polydioxanone suture was not used 3. Open or conversion to open surgery. 4. Patients with incomplete records or loss to followup before 90 days
