Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients aged above 18 years scheduled for elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with significant mitral or aortic valve disease. Patients with atrial fibrillation or other sustained arrhythmias. Patients with other associated congenital heart anomalies. Patients with prior left atrial surgery.Patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction Patients undergoing redo sternotomy or other major concurrent cardiac procedures. Patients undergoing emergency CABG. Patients with poor transthoracic echocardiographic image quality. Patients with hemodynamic instability prior to TEE probe insertion. Patients with esophageal pathology contraindicating TEE Patients unwilling or unable to provide informed consent.

To evaluate the changes in the LA strain and LA Volume Index after the placement of TEE probe in mid-esophageal and transgastric positions in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).Timepoint: After induction of anesthesia and before TEE probe insertion (baseline) After positioning of the TEE probe at mid-esophageal level After positioning of the TEE probe at transgastric level

To assess the correlation between LA strain changes & LA volume after the placement of TEE probe To evaluate the correlation between changes in LA strain & hemodynamic parameters like heart rate, mean arterial blood pressure, & cardiac output To assess the periprocedural complications related to TEE probe insertion.
