Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Children of either gender aged between 5 and 16 years. 2 Patients presenting with clinical features of functional constipation. 3 Written informed consent obtained from parents or legal guardians.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Constipation due to organic causes (e.g., Hirschsprung s disease of anorectal malformations, hypothyroidism). 2.Intestinal obstruction or other surgical conditions. 3.Patients with severe systemic illness. 4.Patients currently on other laxative medications. 5.Children below the age of 5 years and above the age of 16 years
