Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 60-80 years. 2. Male & Female genders. 3. ASA grade I-III. 4. Patients undergoing elective total hip replacement surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Any contraindications of spinal anaesthesia. 2. Raised levels of CRP & PCT at baseline. 3. Block failure. 4. Neurological deficiencies in lower limb. 5. Local infection at the puncture site for either block. 6. Alcohol dependence. 7. Chronic opioid dependence, or abuse. 8. Inability to cooperate. 9. Any history of cognitive disorders like Dementia or Delirium, Schizophrenia and Parkinson disease.
