Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients undergoing lumbar spine surgery 2. Patients with written informed consent 3. Either male or female patient 4. Patients aged 20 to 50 years 5. Patients belonging to American Society of Anaesthesiologists class 1 and 2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients having massive hemodynamic perturbations intraoperatively 2. Patients with a history of allergy to study drug 3. Patients should not be a part of any other study

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess and compare rsO2 intraoperatively at various time intervals between group A receiving sevoflurane and group B receiving propofol as maintenance anaesthetic agent respectively.Timepoint: at 5 mins interval throughout the surgery upto extubation

MeasureTime frame
To assess and compare hemodynamic parameters (HR, SBP, DBP, MAP, SpO2) intraoperatively at various time interval between group A receiving sevoflurane and group B receiving propofol as maintenance anaesthetic agent . To assess and compare effect of prone position versus supine position on rsO2. To assess and compare the proportion of patients experiencing side effects if any. Timepoint: at 5 mins interval throughout the surgery upto extubation
