Intervention1: Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy using pepperment essential oil will be given to patients for 5 minutes prior to impression making and continued throughout the procedure Control Intervention1

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients requiring maxillary impression for prosthodontic procedures. 2. Patients exhibiting clinically significant gag reflex based on questionnaire scoring. 3. Patients willing to participate and ready to provide written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with severe or uncontrollable gag reflex unsuitable for impression procedures. 2. Patients with known allergy to peppermint essential oil. 3. Patients with respiratory disorders such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. 4. Patients with systemic or neurological conditions affecting gag reflex.

Reduction in gag reflex severity measured using Gagging Prevention Index (GPI) during maxillary impression procedureTimepoint: Assessment will be done at 4 weeks.
