Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Patient s fulfilling diagnostic criteria according to Revised Atlanta Criteria (2/3) 1.typical abdominal pain in the epigastrium that may radiate to the back 2.threefold or greater elevation in serum lipase and/or amylase 3.confirmatory findings of acute pancreatitis on abdominal imaging - Patients admitted within 48 hours of symptom onset.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients below 18 years of age. 2.Patients who haven t given consent. 3.Pre-existing Chronic Pancreatitis. 4.Severe comorbidities 5.Patients on anti-lipidemic drugs and other drugs which reduce lipid levels like Anti-Retroviral drugs.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
BISAP score will be calculated to assess severity of Acute pancreatitis. HDL/LDL ratio calculated and it is compared with bisap to assess severity is patients with acute pancreatitis.Timepoint: within 48hr of admission BISAP is calculated and compared with HDL-LDL ratio

MeasureTime frame
HLD, LDL relationship with Acute pancreatitis severity.Timepoint: Within 48hr of admission.
