Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients aged 18 to 70 years scheduled for upper limb surgeries requiring supraclavicular brachial plexus block. ASA physical status I or II. Patients providing written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients refusing consent. Emergency surgeries. Coagulopathy or anticoagulant therapy. Infection at site of block. Severe anatomical abnormalities. Pregnancy. Known allergy to local anesthetics.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Time taken for nerve identification and completion of supraclavicular brachial plexus block in minutes.Timepoint: From start of ultrasound scanning to completion of local anesthetic injection. Around 10 minutes.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Block success rate defined as achievement of effective sensory & motor block.Timepoint: At 30 minutes post block.;Procedure related complications including vascular puncture, pneumothorax, or local anesthetic toxicity.Timepoint: During procedure & up to 1 hour post procedure.
