Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Patients diagnosed with acute appendicitis based on clinical signs and symptoms such as right iliac fossa pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever. 2)Adults aged 18 years and above. 3)patients confirmed with acute appendicitis through clinical evaluation, imaging (ultrasound/CT scan), or surgical exploration. 4)Patients with perforated appendicitis confirmed by intraoperative findings or postoperative pathological examination. 5) Patients with uncomplicated appendicitis confirmed through surgery or imaging.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Pregnant women, as appendicitis presentation and bilirubin levels may differ in pregnancy. 2) Patients with chronic liver diseases such as cirrhosis or hepatitis, as these can affect bilirubin metabolism. 3) Patients with known hyperbilirubinemia due to conditions like hemolytic anemia or biliary tract obstruction. 4) Patients with severe, uncontrolled comorbidities such as sepsis, acute pancreatitis, or renal failure, which could interfere with diagnosis. 5) Children under 18 years old due to differences in disease presentation and bilirubin metabolism.
