Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients posted for elective surgery under general anaesthesia and requiring nasotracheal intubation. 2. patients consenting to participate. 3. patients belonging to ASA grade I and II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Known difficult airway (Mouth opening less than 2.5 cm, Oropharyngeal tumour, Patients that are difficult to mask ventilate (BMI >35kg/m2), History of nasal trauma or basal skull fracture, Mallampati class 3 or 4) 2.History of laryngeal surgery or radiotherapy. 3.Frequent episodes of epistaxis. 4.Bleeding tendency and patients with significant systemic disease.

1.To assess and compare the time taken to achieve successful nasotracheal intubation and the need for number of additional manoeuvres like BURP, neck movement, ETT movement, Magill s Forceps in cuff inflation-deflation technique v/s conventional technique groups.Timepoint: 15 minutes	—

1.To assess and compare the number of attempts required for successful NTI, intubation failure rate and the hemodynamic response to intubation between the cuff inflation-deflation technique v/s conventional technique groups. 2.To assess and compare the Cormack Lehane (CL) Grading and Percentage Of Glottis Opening (POGO) score between the cuff inflation-deflation technique v/s conventional technique groups. 3.To assess and compare the Complication like postoperative sore throat and nasal bleeding, if any between the cuff inflation-deflation technique v/s conventional technique groups. Timepoint: 15 minutes	—
