Intervention1: Oral Risperidone: Risperidone(2-3) mg twice a day titrated up to 8mg/day. Control Intervention1: Oral Olanzapine: Olanzapine (5-20) mg once a day titrated up to 20mg/day

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient aged 18-60 years of age having schizophrenia presenting to opd /ipd will be enrolled.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pregnant and lactating women. Patient not willing to participate in the study. Patient is known hypersensitivity to risperidone and olanzapine. Patients in the age group 60 years. Patients with any serious co morbid illness like Glaucoma, BPH, cancer, TB, HIV, AIDS and LEPROSY
