Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with chronic kidney disease or Patients on Dialysis. 2.Patients with liver cirrhosis or hepatic failure. 3.Patients with significant gastrointestinal losses (vomiting or diarrhea more than 24 hours before admission). 4.Patients on medications known to affect QT interval or cause arrhythmia (eg:antiarrhythmics, macrolides, antipsychotics). 5.Patients with a known history of arrhythmias prior to the current STEMI event. 6.Patients diagnosed with NSTEMI or unstable angina instead of STEMI.
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Incidence of cardiac arrhythmias in STEMI patients with low serum magnesium and/or low serum potassium levels.Timepoint: - At Admission - At 24 hours after admission - At 72 hours after admission/At Discharge | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1.Prevalence of hypomagnesemia in STEMI patients admitted to ICU. 2.Prevalence of hypokalemia in STEMI patients admitted to ICU. 3.Type & frequency of arrhythmias observed during ICU stay.Timepoint: - At Admission - At 24 hours after admission - At 72 hours after admission/At Discharge | — |
