Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged between 18 and 90years of either sex, belonging to ASA 1 to 3 & undergoing elective proximal femur nailing surgeries under spinal anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with coagulopathies and bleeding diathesis 2. Patients with known hypersensitivity to study drugs 3. Patients with infection at the site of block. 4. Patients with a previous history of inguinal hernia surgery and femoral bypass graft 5. Chronic opioid abuse 6.Peripheral neuropathy

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare duration of analgesia between two groupsTimepoint: every hour postoperatively upto 24hrs through vas score analysis.

1.To compare ease of positioning between two groups 2.Total analgesic requirement in both groups 3.To compare adverse effects in both groupsTimepoint: for ease of positioning-upto 15 min after block & for analgesic & adverse effects every hour postoperatively upto 24hrs
