Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Systemically healthy patients with mandibular molars were included in the study. Selected teeth were diagnosed with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis based on detailed evaluation of pain characteristics such as intensity, duration, frequency, and triggering factors. A comprehensive intraoral examination was carried out using a diagnostic mirror and probe. Teeth exhibiting deep caries or large restorations were considered eligible. Additionally, periapical radiographs were obtained for each case to assess the tooth structure, periapical condition, and periodontal support, ensuring proper case selection and standardization for the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with systemic diseases were excluded from the study. Individuals younger than 18 years or older than 45 years were not considered. Patients who were unable to provide informed consent were also excluded. Mandibular molars showing any signs of periapical involvement were not included. Additionally, patients with a known allergy to local anesthetics or those who had taken antibiotics, analgesics, or anti-inflammatory drugs within the previous 7 days were excluded to avoid bias in pain assessment. Informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their inclusion in the study, ensuring ethical compliance and patient awareness.
